After studying history at the University of Pisa, Nicola Bertellotti developed a personal vision oriented towards an aesthetic of decline, in which the sense of the fleetingness of all things is profoundly rooted. His research emerged in his first solo exhibition, Fenomenologia della Fine, held in the province of Lucca in 2013. The exhibition was staged again in 2014, in Pisa, and the same year Petrartedizioni published the catalogue with essays by Pier Luigi Pinelli, entitled Fenomenologia della Fine. In 2014 Bertellotti participated in the European Photographic Festival (Busto Arsizio), where he exhibited Damnatio Memoriae, and in Tuscany he featured with the exhibition Focus on/ così com’è that Francesca Sensi Arte a Colori Galleria devoted to him. He participated in the Affordable Art Fair and the Set Up Art Fair in 2015. That year the #091LAB exhibition space (Palermo) devoted a solo show to him, Il lungo addio. In addition to photography, Bertellotti is also active at conferences and workshops. In 2016 he organized exhibition Hic Sunt Dracones at Castel dell’Ovo (Naples). In 2017 he realized the social project Blue eye at the Museum of Contemporary Art LIMEN, Permanent collection (Vibo Valencia) and in 2016 he took par in the CODICE MIA at the MIA Photo Fair (Milan).
