Before the panoramas portrayed in these images, the sight extends itself far away and tries to contemplate what lies beyond, towards the horizon. The elements which are common to all the photographs are simple and only a few: the sea, the sky and the rocks. However, while observing the series of Gola’s photos, it is possible to admire images polished and wisely arranged images where the colours and the hues shape contrasts and different depths enriching the landscapes, already breath-taking for their nature. The skies are vast and dense with colour and the water, calmand slightly turbid, leads the eyes of the spectator towards a vaster perspective. The rocks and cliffs begin everything; they are symbols of a lively and stable nature, steady points of reference in the corner of the world in a never-ending transformation.
Francesco Gola is a self-educated photographer who became a professional in the field focused on landscape photography. His shutter clicks are tidy and gleaming, and they portray the magnificent and the grandeur of Nature: sunsets, sunrises, fog and huge landscapes became the topic of his work. The observer cannot be moved by vivid and lively colors of his endless heavens, landscapes and cliff, from the peculiar headlights of the North Sea, to the closer Italy. The artist indeed, said tha photography “is a source of inspiration that allows me to reveal the relationship between the outside world of Nature and the inside world of dreams, thoughts, emotions, desires and wishes”. His fame and visibility are also due to a skillful use of social networks; his style could be appreciated from different point of view and, of course, a lot of people could take an interest in it. F. Gola is always on the go and in 2017 he’ll achieve his solo exhibition, Iceland, which aspires to promote one of the most interesting place of his unmistakable and unique landscape.
