Marco Siracusano’s artistic research is characterized by evanescent images and by suspended and evocative atmospheres. His way of approaching the reality is never solely objective; every shot hides a subtle symbolism, shielded behind the appearance of the mere surface. The eyes dig in the depths and they bring to light the distant echoes and visual similarities, otherwise unheard. And so, behind a ruffled white velvet drape, captured on a background of the same colour, the softness of the waves is hidden.
Marco Siracusano grow up in a real artistic and creative family. His grandfather was a famous photographer and he belonged to a family rooted in art. Thanks to his precious advises, Siracusano started to explore the visual world with a special sensitivity. He attended IED, Istituto Europeo di Design di Milano, and he gratuated in Photography. In 2013, during the collective exhibition called R-evolution (Barletta, Castello Svevo), he exhibited his work and he won as best participant. Then, during Studio Contest, R-evolution, he received a special mention by the FIOF (Fondo Internazionale Orvieto Fotografia). One year later, in 2014 on the occasion of the Video Awards by FIOF, he was placed third and he also obtained the prestigious Best Student Award.
In 2015 he took part in the R-evolution Festival (Latina, Barletta, Salerno, Porto Empedocle). In 2016 his artworks were shown in the exhibitons La conoscenza è partecipazione and Conversazioni Immaginarie, at the Casa dei Diritti of Milano and Fabbrica del Vapore respectively. In 2017 he took part in the MIA Photo Fair in Milan in collaboration with Alidem- the art of photography.
